David Sweeney-Bear gave a phenomenal performance! His attention to detail, experience and expertise has brought my Gothic dark fantasy series and over 30 characters to life! David mastered the voice amd accent for each character while his tone established the Gothic theme, which remained perfectly consistent throughout the audiobook. Despite over 60 applications or auditions, David was a clear choice from the beginning and his passion for the project shone through. He was also a pleasure to work with throughout the process.
What were you looking for in a narrator before we began?
Someone whose voice was perfectly suited to my Gothic dark fantasy genre. And someone who could bring the characters to life through a change in accent and tone, enabling the listener to keep track of who is speaking. Also, someone who was happy to collaborate openly.
What stood out about working together?
Our first conversation over the phone. I'm a big believer in collaborating and communicationing openly. Many people stick to email these days, but our conversations by phone allowed us to perfect and progress the project a lot quicker. As well as WhatsApp voice recordings in a bid to nail the accents or tone of voice. Great fun.
How did the final audiobook meet or exceed your expectations?
I had high expectations and these were exceeded by the consistent tone, voice, style of the narration and characters. Not to mention the musical introduction which was perfect and captured Sabre's soul in every way. It kick starts the listening experience in the best way possible.
Would you recommend my narration services to other authors or publishers? Why?
100% . David's passion, communication, skill, experience and chatacter mean he should be heavily considered for any project.
