Raw Studio Sample
I have a soundproofed and acoustically treated home recording environment.
I use an AKG C414 xls microphone with a professional AKG shockmount, popshield, and a Rode boom arm.
My preamp and audio interface for recording is a Fosurite Forte, and for editing and mastering I use a Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 Mk1.
I use Beyerdynamic DT770 and DT990 headphones.
My main Digital Audio Workstation is REAPER for recording and editing. This is a heavily customized installation specifically for audiobook production of my own design.
I use a variety of audio plugins for my mastering chain, including REAPER native plugins as well as third-party plugins such as iZotope RX-10 De-Clicker and De-Esser.
I also use iZotope RX-Pro Audio Editor for external processing of audio files, including noise reduction and phase balancing when needed.
I use Adobe Audition for final checking and level-matching of mastered files.
Manuscript preparation and annotation are handled with my own software, customized for audiobook workflows. I also have Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and LibreOffice suite, as well as occasional document conversion with Caliber.
